The beautiful Calaveras Grove of 90 trees most interesting [from] on account of its being the first discovered [is in the] now belongs to a lumber co. So also does the Stanislaus Grove containing more of over [thousand] trees belong to a lumber co.
This of course would require much buying [the region is] cut & blotched all the best of the region with Private claims every one of which [all] these the [government] should [be] extinguish by purchase [the] [ ] as fast as possible at whatever cost. Thus correcting as far as possible. No Seq [Sequoia] should remain in the blunder of selling private lands.
[The people should not rest] nor reading the sign of the times are more [they] likely to the rest the [ ] amid all that is left of Seq [Sequoia] Gigantea [is] [ ] [ ] for its best use is secured.
The government should buy all its Sequoia lands back again.
