Dear Sir,
[ ] of the members S Club [Sierra Club] so far as I know is able to give instruction on scientific forestry Certainly I can not, Tho we all interested in a general way in seeing forest harvests reaped in such [a] ways that the [harvests] forests shall last forever be [perennial] in seeing forests used without being destroyed. I shall with much pleasure call the attention of the club to your kind & hopeful request.

My dear Miss Graydon, The ferns are here in perfect order & they are lovely [all] neatly [pressed] & packed & [named] & I thank you very much.

Her work done [now y] gone to the Better Land
