I have sent you [sent index] today the index & [with] complete copy of proof sheets of “Our Wild Parks’ [I noted a few typographical errors in the plate proofs. I noticed the few]
The following typographical errors are all I have noticed. In the plate proofs
- Stone for stones 47
- Buth for But page 143
3. Juniperis for juniperus 123
4. Chestnut, oak for Chestnut-oak 131
5. Astors for asters 164
6. Justthen for just then 264
When done with the photos I sent you please return them

I’m sorry the [season] has not been a fruitful one in [haws] [presenting] the ending of your already long drawn out Crataegus chapter. [ ] [ ] [&] [ ] [ ] [bed] [&] [ ] But no doubt you had a grand trip though alone. [notwithstanding the scarcity] of Crataegus great and [loneliness] Anyhow you’ll get no pity from me as long as you are free to wander in the glorious eastern forests. Don’t have many more years [how] [ ] are you going to give to Crataegus you seem to count on longevity numbers [Sequoia] No doubt these famous little trees deserve all you are doing for them. But the place they are likely to fill in your book seems out of proportion to the rest.
I’m [pegging] away on the last of those park articles with lots of other work looming ahead.
