Many examples here of perp [perpendicular] & overhanging rocks. This part of valley edge most gorged & jagged of all Sheer walls of thousands of feet in all kinds of combinations [peaks] & [cones] Spires & columns in most [astonishing] variety & grouping This angular [startling] style of rock sculpture never found on N [north] side of [cañons] is produced by lingering shadow glacierets
