July 8. Arrived at Dutch Harbor early this morning. A new town made by the American [Company] [which] succeeded the Alaska Com [Company] in the fur seal business. A busy town since Klondike discovery. Hills green and flowery, large anemone, [Sketches: After leaving [Kodiak]. Grizzly volcano. Olai? Smoke. Low [glacier] 70 [miles] [West] of Nyak Grand [glacier] white expanse on old volcano 200 [miles] from Nyak on Alaska [Peninsula]. Mt. Pavloff 260 [miles] from Nyak.
