Saw high mtn 3000 or 4000 yel[low] with moss. Only very sheer or crumbling fronts are naked. Met at Ind[ian] summer village where made headquarters for sealing - perhaps 600 to 1000 skins in village now. 4 men in 2 canoes shot 15. Wh[ich] they skinned at Egg Island The night we camped on mainland opposite. 2 of them came over & ate breakfast with us. Were greatly interested in our aluminum utensils Parties went ashore.
