The mines of Se Alaska alone destined to make Alaska famous as gold ftns. [August] 26. Got botanizing up Silver Bow; rich in hemlocks and ferns, a small maple here. Visited hospital. [August] 27. Left Juneau 4 A.M. for Skagway. Arrive 11:20. After dinner take walk to foot of trail. Go ashore by boat. [Sketch]
