June Monday 10, 1895 Hot & dry. Cherries going off well. The Parkman’s wrens have vanished from the woodpile. I suppose the young were able to fly. for weeks the parents supplied them with worms & insects big & small in lavish abundance.
Tuesday 11 North wind & of course hot & feverish the vines are growing gloriously. How hopeful vital & exuberant they seem.
Wednesday 12 Still warm & drouthy
Thursday 13 Warm & drouthy. Hills fairly brown now.
