June Wednesday 5, 1895 Very warm. North wind singing & scorching every man woman child animal and plant. Horizon dirty & dusty. The night hot. no cover required.
Thursday 6 Still dizzily hot from dawn to sundown. North wind howling and scorching. Headaches abundant
Friday 7 Hot North wind still blowing & scorching. The air dusty, dirty opaque by heavy wind over hot lava plains & loose dusty grain fields & pastures. Mr. George came here today to discuss waterworks in [Valona]. Mr. Anderson came with lease of warehouses & wharf for signature. We hope to have a good tenant in Mr. Anderson.
Saturday 8 Hot & dry. Cherries rapidly ripening. Went to town. Came home with Mr. Parkhurst.
Sunday 9 Went to Swetts to see my pet Ruth Parkhurst.
