June 13. Alt Horse c 8100; calm; a few low crawling white and gray clds, sun in broad bars streaming across the green sedgy glade; timber mostly. Temp air at 7.30, 47. Boulder Crk rossing, 6600. Tornado Meadds 6850; cldy. Many grand sequoias along the stream, young and old, particularly fine and perfect on right hand as go uptrail nearly to summit basin, 8000 ft. Also seqs in three other vals or ravines w of Boulder Crk and many show their grand domes rising on headlands fronting the river, glorious, majestic, profusion of evergreens. On the mtn top the sun streaming on the majestic array of snowy pks poised grandly in the calm blue. Like radiant suns every godlike mtn seems to radiate beams of beauty that touches us, reach and touch with mysterious influence like loving hands; awed with sense of infinite space.
