45 Some cones of ice not far from camp covered with sand mostly but on N side by cobbles size of hens eggs or a little larger all clean bright as if carefully wiped. Singular must look more carefully at them cloudy mostly today sunny P.M. 6 P.M. feel that my eyes are getting better Fell into concealed crevasse that was full to the brim with water Expect the Queen tomorrow or next day [so] must try to get down to Inlet [tomorrow] & make signal to have some of the Reed party ferry me over Must hear from home send word & get rest & more to eat 11th day—July 21 Eyes much better Got to my last camp about 11 A.M.
