Rose Cottage,Woodbush,Dunbar5th Jan, 1914.Mr Muir,Dear Sir,My Friend the late John Manuel who was killed at Natick, Mass. used to correspond with me regularly and in one of his last letters he asked me confidentially if I could send him a few views of Dunbar to give to you for some book you were writing But before I got the photos ready Mr Manuel was killed, and I would have sent them on to you early but I did'nt know your address at the time.I trust you will accept the few photos which I send under separate cover they are my own work and you are at liberty to use them as you think fit. Should you require any view of Dunbar which you have not got for any publication you may [bring?] out I will be pleased to do it for youTrusting you will excuse me for the liberty I take in writing youI am yours truly Thomas T.
