Martinez, June 22, 1910My darling Helen,Dearest sister Margaret died this afternoon- free at last in the Better Land from care & pain & all bodily frailty. I'm very glad I was able to be with her to cheer & soothe & comfort while yet she could recognize me. The last two or three days was unconscious in a sort of sleep next to death.David & Sarah arrived four hours too late to see her in life.We all rejoice she passed away in deep sleep without pain or struggle - but these last farewells are hard to bear.Glad Darling that you're feeling better as your Tracey letter shows. Be more careful of health than ever.Your loving father
