Daggett, Cal. May 14 - '08Dear Papa -I had a good letter from you yesterday and am so glad all is going well at home. I suppose I'll hear from Wanda today. Here a clipping from yesterday's San Bernardino paper on Hetch Hetchy - Mr Manson showed it to me last evening. It surprised me a good deal for I supposed that the main danger was over.I am feeling well and happy, and am well supplied with flowers, for since I have your sweet brier and a big bunch of beautiful red carnations too my shanty is just full of sweetness. I was by the track yesterday when No. 4 passed & one of the train men gave me this big bunch of beautiful carnations & said "With the compliments of the Santa Fe" - I think that was "nice".How is Stickeen coming these days?Always yours lovinglyHelen04187
