Daggett, June 7 - 08Dear Papa -The deed has just come back so Im forwarding it to you. Wanda left Wednesday afternoon and I got a cheerful letter from her yesterday, she was then with Carrie Owen and said she was having a good time. Her stay here certainly did her lots of good, but it was best for her to go, because she is anxious to get home, and cannot be content to stay on the desert long. She cant leave old thoughts and worries behind her as well as I have learned to do. Now Im alone again Im not lonesome for the desert is just as big and wonderful as ever, and its all mine.Wanda sent Mrs Funk and I some lovely flowers from Los Angeles yesterday, and I have a beautiful yucca spike as high as my head, that was brought into Daggett from the [Cajon?] on a Salt Lake freight train, so Im rich in flowers.How are you? Im glad you have had so many friends to keep to keep away the lonliness [All on the ranch and kind regards. [Lovingly?] yoursHelen]04217
