[illegible][1907]11-28Theo. Roosevelt, President of the U. S.Washington, D. C.Honored Sir:--I am a lover of nature and particularly of the Yosemite National Park. I most emphatically and sincerely protest against the invasion of one of its most magnificent and hospitable features-Hetch-Hetchy Valley-by its proposed use as a water reservoir, thus destroying its use as a camping site for the thousands that otherwise will continue resorting to it in the future. It is admitted that there are several ample sources of water supply for San Francisco without so unnecessarily encroaching on and destroying this magnificent property of the Nation.Yours respectfully,[illegible]06241
