[1]648 Washington St Milwaukee Wis Aug 17-06Dear Friend JohnIf nothing hinders I and daughter will start on our pacific trip two weeks from to night the 31st I find it will be most pleasant and advantageous to go by the north and return by the south we will then have nearly uniform weather all the time We will be with Maggie and her family a few days in Winnipeg We will stay a day or two in the Rockies making two or three stops before we get to Vancouver There will perhaps be ten days or more spent visiting saw mills and places of interest about the towns and cities around Puget Sound Will probably reach San francisco about the 20th Sep you may be home then if not there is a week or more to bvisit two cousins and their cousinettes which are living there and one or two other friends say 8 or 10 days for this If you are not home then we can go on to Los Angeles near there Alexanders widow an son are livin he is a grandson of old Mr [illegible] Linn of Detroit and undergraduate of Ann Arbor Mich a fine fellow looks much like his father but stronger There are also friends in Los Angeles A week or more can be spent there If you are not home then we will see you and daughters in A[illegible] on our return 03758
