Martinez, May 13, 1906Dear Cousin Margaret.I was very glad to get your letter the other day with tidings of your welfare especially of your own & Maggies health. The great earthquake did us little damage, a thousand dollars or so in the way of shattered chimnies & plaster. In San Francisco mostly by fire the devastation & los is beyond measure Nevertheless in a few years the city will rise again though the losses of thousands of poor labor people will be felt all there lifetime.03729
