Martinez, Cal.Sep 12, 1907Dear Mr Marshall-I thank you very much for your truly good & kind invitation to Sacramento Of course I couldn't go guideless in that irigation chaparral, but I thought I might find some help in the effort the Sierra Club is making to save Hetch Hetchy from being dammed for a reservoir, tho a water congress is not a likely place for such help, & by the time your letter came I couldn't go.Remember me warmly to Mrs Marshall & her sister & your charming children especially the youngest & believe me with pleasant memories ever faithfully yoursJohn Muir
