[2]freely and, as you say, were "too full to write" and had to get Helen to do it for you! And I must tell Helen that one of the first duties of a good secretary is not to let the 'Boss' say (on paper) things he had better keep to himself! Guess I'll have to tell Keith! By the way, how is he? Well & active I trust. Hope to see you both before very log, but it may be the 5th or even 10th of July before I can get off - am still so overwhelmed here. Nine of the Harriman volumes are now sent & on sale, and the 10th (really vol. 12_ will follow soon. So you see I am not idle outside of office. Besides, I'm writing a Bear Book - jus to[3]amuse Helen, & straighten out this [illegible] of my pocket. All my [numerous?] [illegible], want to go to California, but it is doubtful if any [that?] [the?] old man go this year. What a wonderful trip you have had! I'd like just one like it myself. I enjoyed your letters immensely and would have answered had you given me any address.Saw Gannett last night. He is well and inquired after you. When the registered mail gets through to Martinez Mrs Muir will receive a few photographs I've had enlarged for her. I expected to get them done by Xmas, but all [sorts?] of things have happened to present. All of us join in best love to all of you - as[illegible] yrsC. Hart MerrimanJohn Muir
