This had been a hard winter in the way of colds. Grippe etc Mrs Muir has been confined to bed for over two months, & had just commenced to take short rides & walks about the garden. Wanda also was sick two weeks with GrippeIm pegging away at a forest book making slow headway I send you a magazine with a portrait You need not return the Mazama book - I wish the best of your mtneers & tree lovers could be got together into some sort of club. It would carry great influence even though the members did not exceed fifty I devoutly hope you will all be well with the[in margin: opening Spring. Love to Lottie. Ever yours' John Muir]
