I shall not there for be able to join in it, I am very sorry to say, for according to an engagement made before I learned the President's wish that I should accompany him, & to which I referred in my first letter to you, I must be in Boston May 15th & sail for Europe a few days later.Please convey my regrets to the President, & the 09220
