Dear Agnes:Keep this in your archives.Affectionately Martinez Apr. 15 1902R. U. J.1My dear JohnsonI have heard nothing of buried city Guess its April fool. The Canon is a huge thing to write about, & the end of my poor article is not yet in sight--As to Yosemite recession most everybody believes in it but politicians hang on to the patronage connected with it like grim death. But I'll try to see what can be done. I suppose the legislature meets next winter -- Grandfather congratulations well may you brag--Your son in law I suppose makes you equal to a great grandfather--One of the finest fellows you ever know! etc etc--But for a' that & a' that I say Agnes is fine enough for the finest of them all. When are you coming hither & Alaska way--not I suppose until multiplication goes on as far as a car loadRemember me to Mrs Johnson. Good luck to the Holdens,Ever Yours,John Muir1 Robert Underwood Johnson holograph note,[envelope enclosed]10032
