79 Martinez, Aug. 28,/02My dear Johnson. I'm home from the mountains & have just finished correction of proof of the Colorado Canon, which with this I'll mail today. I have received the company check for $190. but I meant 250 besides the cost of trip. so I want $60 more. (Sent - R. U. T.) After spending 10 days with the Sierra Club in Kings Canon region, I crossed over to the Giant Forest of Kaweah & thence made a long interesting trip to the grand canon of the Kern tracing it from the lakes to its head. & thence to the top of Mt Whitney. a magnificent trip through the highest of the high Sierra which is being made by greater & greater numbers of mountain lovers every year & should I think be described in the
