Martinez, Sep. 4, 1902My dear professor AndersonI'm glad to hear that with returning health your heart is on the mountains. For the Kings River country Mr P. A. Kanayer is your man, His address is Millwood He packed all the Sierra Club stuff, has over a hundred animals & all sorts of camping outfits, guides etc. You go by rail to Sanger, thence 50 miles by stage to Millwood where at a few days notice Kanayer will be ready for you. But this is a hard hot trip. Even beyond the Kings Yosemite Canon the ground along the trails is dry & dusty & trampled by this years heavy travel while the higher region is frost bitten every night now.
