You are of course well aware that the interest which the people of San Francisco and the Pacific Slope have in these giants of the forest at the present time, is at a white heat, and the press dispatch from Washington this morning, announcing that the Calaveras and Tuolumne Groves are out of danger from the lumberman's axe, must be very gratifying to all, and especially to your good self.If you can see your way to favor us in this matter, we will make it our business to place you before an audience worthy of the lecturer and the subject. If the idea commends itself to you, we can arrange to have a set of first-class stereopticon views prepared, to illustrate your lecture.
