2is rather dry & long for a popular work. I thought it would be well to give a general view of glaciation as foundation for much in lighter vein in other portions of the book. Anyhow the Sierra Glacier could not be left out.I fear I shall not get into the valley this year, at least not until the end of next month on account of reading proof on the book which is only about half done so far. But if your son dan get off let him come & we will make the trip as soon as the last of the proofs reaches me. Or let him come next year & young G. [illegible] & his father & yourself and John Burroughs & Tesla and wouldn't that be a radiant gang! to attack the Tuolumne taluses.Irish is out of the Yosemit Commission. I'm ashamed of the report of the directors of our club on parks and reservations. I was not present at the meeting. Irish might have written it. I suppose you have the report. It is in Bullitin 7 of the Sierra Club. Ever cordially yrs J. MuirBancroft Library
