[1893]#219 [Grand?] Ave.Waukesha Wis.Prof. John Muir.Martinez Cal.Dear Friend.I presume you may have forgotten me. My name is John Howitt who attended the Wis. University when you did and my room was just across the hall from your and your brothers. I recollect you so well; also, the clocks you made of wood and the time we spent with each other; also, of your going out to teach school; that was the last time I saw you until I called on you at Prof. Sweets about four years ago, no it is more, I think five. I met Prof Chas Allen, who used to teach the normal at Madison and later at San Joes. Cal. here a few yeas ago also at the World's Fair and he gave me your address; but I neglected in01618
