Yosemite Valley September 27th 72Dear Mother, I am just arrived from a long excursion up the great Tuolumne Canon above Hetch Hetchy Valley I did not complete my proposed work there, so I set out again tomorrow for two weeks more. I am measuring mtns & canons with particular reference to mtn structure in connection with ice action, also sketching waterfalls, special rockforms etc. I have just received a letter from Prof' Agassiz written by his wife He regrets his inabiblity to visit Yosemite & ramble
