William and Maymie Kimes Annotation
This handsome volume is the ninth issued in the Sierra Club Exhibit Format Series. The text is a condensed version of My First Summer in the Sierra, no. 299, and is enhanced by Mr. Kauffman's magnificent photographs. A few quotations (taken from other sources) opposite photographs and in the expanded frontispiece, are shown in italics. David Brower's foreword is an eloquent appeal for the preservation of wilderness, a fitting prologue to the text.
