William and Maymie Kimes Annotation
In this quarterly of the Los Angeles Corral of The Westerners, in the article ""John Muir, The Man"" by William F. Kimes are excerpts from five letters written by Muir to a close friend, Mrs. A. H. Sellers (Kimes coll.). After the death of Mr. Sellers, Muir wrote: "". . .and though death is as natural as life, none the less is the pain of the last parting. This sorrow we all must bear, sustained by the blessed hope of meeting again in the deathless world beyond the grave and in the meantime trust our heavenly Father to guide and sustain us. Plodding on our way, doing our every day duties as they come with heaven's grace is our only way of escape from crushing sorrow.""
