Biography: R. Daniel Wadhwani is Professor of Management and Fletcher Jones Chair in Entrepreneurship at the University of the Pacific. He also holds appointments as a visiting professor in the Department of Management, Politics, and Philosophy at Copenhagen Business School and the Department of Economics at Kyoto University. He was previously a Newcomen fellow in business history and lecturer at Harvard Business School.

A historian by training, Dan uses historical sources, methods, and reasoning to examine the foundations of entrepreneurial action and the origins and evolution of organizations and markets. He has published in leading journals in both management (Academic of Management Journal) and business history (Business History Review, Business History). Most recently, he has co-edited Organizations in Time: History, Theory, Methods (Oxford University Press, 2014), which examines the epistemic, theoretical, and methodological opportunities and challenges of integrating historical research and reasoning into management and organizational research. He is currently co-editor for a special issue on "Historical Approaches to Entrepreneurship Research" at Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal and a special issue on "Uses of the Past: History and Memory in Organizations and Organizing" at Organization Studies.
