Abstract
Resource material on water fountains is provided to enable educators of fluid mechanics and design courses to supplement their class activities. Specifically, a brief history of water fountains, classification of fountain nozzles, design considerations, and summaries of relevant patents are presented. Furthermore, the paper suggests water fountain projects for students to carry out, some of which are multi-disciplinary projects that could be executed by students from art and several engineering majors.
