Abstract

The Build-A-Together Seminar (B.A.T.S.) Project for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Sacramento - Sierra Vista were workshops that grew from biweekly sessions to mutliple times per week. It encourages students to work in teams, especially with peers they do not usually interact with, in order to strengthen relationships and build a more inclusive club culture. The project focuses on developing collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills through structured activities and shared goals. These activities include creating safe spaces, organizing supply lists, and promoting anti-bullying efforts. Students are encouraged to contribute their individual strengths while also learning how to support and work effectively with others. B.A.T.S. also promotes personal growth by helping participants step outside their comfort zones and develop leadership and teamwork skills. The program includes both virtual and hands-on activities to keep students engaged. Overall, the project demonstrates how strong teamwork can lead to better relationships, improved performance, and success in both academic and real-world settings.
