Introduction/Abstract

A preference assessment is a method of identifying stimuli that will likely serve as a reinforcer. There are several variations of preference assessments; the general structure includes presenting an individual with multiple stimuli and recording which stimuli the individual selects and in what order. This procedure is typically conducted with one administrator and no one else present.
