Physics (panelist Guillermo Barro Calvo, PhD): Awarded one-half to Roger Penrose for discoveries related to black hole formation and one-half jointly to Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez for the discovery of a supermassive compact object at the centre of our galaxy (https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/physics/2020/press-release/).
Physiology or Medicine (panelist Nejat Duzgunes, PhD): Awarded jointly to Harvey J. Alter, Michael Houghton and Charles M. Rice for the discovery of Hepatitis C virus (https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/medicine/2020/press-release/).
