Abstract/Artist Statement

My campaign is about mental health awareness. #Care4YOU is a series of posters to help spread awareness and encourage students to take care of not only their mind, but body and spirit as well. It focuses on creating a good quality life by reminding the audience to care for themselves, letting their body rest and believing in their own strength. This series centers around growth, stillness, and patience.

For the first poster I wanted to compare taking care of a garden to taking care of ourselves. I showed this comparison by placing my model among plants to show her also growing. For the second poster I used the ocean and its waves as a metaphor for unpredictability and peaceful moments. If the ocean can rest, then so can your body. In the third poster I focused on storm clouds clearing to reveal a rainbow. It is important to believe in yourself and your strength. Although this campaign focuses solely on making time for your needs, we all know how easy it can be to fall into negative thoughts. To end this series, I wanted to focus on uplifting your spirit and believing in yourself.
