Abstract/Artist Statement
REC Space is a low cost alternative to the traditional professional recording studio. We are targeting small-time and independent music artists that already have the technical skills necessary to record themselves. Our goal is to create a scalable stress-free environment for artists to record their music.
The objective of this project is to show that we can make a cheaper and more comprehensive alternative to what already exists when it comes to professionally recording and producing music. The different design options we create for this service will be standardized, so that they can accommodate any business or office space location we desire.
When an artist goes to a professional sound studio there is a level of quality that they expect to achieve. We need to match that level of quality while lowering the cost to the customer. REC Space is intended to create a service that modernizes the traditional way artists record their music. We want to create a modern and frustration-free recording studio experience that up and coming artists can afford.
Due to time constraints this semester, a design model of the studio space will be our main goal using the Building Information Modeling program, Revit.
The importance of this project is to let artists have access to professional recording equipment and space, allowing them to create, and produce music in a way that was not previously possible. Completion of this project is very important to us and we hope that given our background, being backed by music professionals and university campus provided sources allow us to successfully implement REC Space. Continual modification and updates are to be made to this proposal as more information is gathered, this is not limited to alternative approaches and deliverable.
