Abstract/Artist Statement
The University of the Pacific (Pacific) South Campus Gym was built in 1948 and occupies approximately 13,360 square feet. The existing building is located on the southwest end of the Pacific Stockton campus. The South Campus Gym was originally constructed to be a temporary gym. The building was not deconstructed as the university planned in the 2011-2013 University Master Plan goals. Today, the building is used for Media X classes, rehearsals for the Tiger Dancers, and academic activity courses.
The Athletics Department envisions an engaging space that will attract top level athletes from around the world and bridge the gap between athletics and the student body. The solution to bring high performing athletes and the Pacific community together will be a two story steel facility. The purpose of this facility is to enhance students learning opportunity and personal growth. SiREN Engineering will present the client with a site layout, foundation design, structural/seismic design, water drainage design, Revit BIM model, and a CEQA report.
