Abstract/Artist Statement
Mega Man is one of the most popular characters in video game history. Capcom mastered old school platforming and made it their own by using the Mega Man franchise. Their games were engaging, and fans all over the world loved them. Some even classify Mega Man to be one of their most favorite video game franchises of all time. However, the franchise has died down and there are barely any new games with him anymore. The fan-base has died down and people are still waiting for another new Mega Man game to come out.
Our group’s primary objective is to re-create a game that works similarly to the old Mega Man games using the cross-platform game engine called Unity. We loved playing Mega Man and we want to make our very own version of it. The main character, Blaster Boy, will be able to steal powers from bosses and traverse through levels to unlock secrets and power-ups. Each level will have multiple paths to ensure replay ability. To unlock a different path, Blaster Boy will have to possess the correct power to access it. We are hoping that Blaster Boy will be as entertaining and fun as the past Mega Man games.
