Abstract/Artist Statement
Not everyone believes in the astrology but most people know which sign they belong to and some of the traits that go along with it. There has recently been an increase in the percent of people in the United States that be in astrology. The National Science Foundation’s released a 2014 study stating that that the percentage of Americans who think astrology is “not at all scientific” declined from 62 percent in 2010 to just 55 percent in 2012 (the last year for which data is available). As a result, NSF reports that Americans are apparently less skeptical of astrology than they have been at any time since 1983. I have developed a web application that will allow user to really dive deep into each of the 12 zodiac signs. A lot of the functionality include learning more about the personality traits that come with each individual sign but also the element associated with it. The real test will be the accuracy of the quiz. Through research I have formulated a quiz to guess the users sign after a series of questions are answered. These answers should place user into certain categories a select the correct sign. The application should be able to prove some sceptics wrong and reassure those who already believe in astrology.
