Abstract/Artist Statement

The Google Glass is a wearable heads-up display with advanced computing and interactive capabilities making its way into an industry that is currently dominated by the smartphone. The Glass is still in development, but has been selectively released to certain developers and beta testers. This project has created an application for the Glass that serves as a tour guide for new and prospective students to the Pacific campus. The app is user friendly and gives the user instant heads-up access to information about Pacific, in much the same way that our Ambassadors give information on a walking tour of the campus. In a sense, the Glass becomes an ambassador in and of itself. Once the Google Glass has been released to the general public, incoming students or people that are interested in learning more about Pacific will be able to download the application on their device and go on a private tour at their own pace at any time.
