Abstract/Artist Statement

Since the tragic collapse of the infamous Twin Towers, millions have given their input on what should and should not replace them. Owners, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, have a lot of pressure behind them to rebuild something remarkable and complementary to everyone's needs. After September 11, the Lower Manhattan Development Corp. (LMDC), a joint city-state agency, was developed to guide the rebuilding at Ground Zero. The quandaries facing the LMDC are the current condition at Ground Zero, what should be built, and whom they should bring in to design a new plan. With heavy criticism waiting in the wings, the LMDC's final plan will take creativity, dedication and time.
