Abstract
Course Description: To discuss the acute and long-term cardiac complications associated with COVID-19, including evidence demonstrating correlation of COVID-19 severity with pre-existing cardiovascular disease, acute cardiac injury during COVID-19 infections, and potential long-term cardiac problems following COVID-19 resolution. Pharmacist Objectives: 1. Describe the pathophysiology of COVID-19 disease. 2. Summarize acute cardiac complications associated with COVID-19, such as acute coronary syndromes and stress cardiomyopathy. 3. Discuss possible long-term cardiac complications associated with COVID-19. Pharmacy Technician Objectives (including Registered Nurses): 1. Describe the pathophysiology of COVID-19 disease. 2. Summarize acute cardiac complications associated with COVID-19, such as acute coronary syndromes and stress cardiomyopathy. 3. Discuss possible long-term cardiac complications associated with COVID-19.
