My dear Papa
You will have returned from Norway before this. I suppose you have had a delightful time and that you have seen many strange wonders while in Norway. I hope that we will soon hear from you and hear about all these things Helen is very well and the weather has been a little cooler than it has been. Grandma and Mama are pretty well. The pears and plums are ripe and we are shipping a good many of them but there is not much demand.

Mrs Pottor died last Friday, and Grandma is going to the funeral this afternoon. I am keeping the plants that I analyze. I press them between two sheets of blotting paper and then paste them on paper with the names under them. My Canaries had company yesterday, as they were hanging in the window a little C[illegible] lit on the out side of the window sill and they had quite a long twittered conversation to geather. We are getting along finely with our school and we like Miss Blaisdell more and more the longer we know her. Lou has gone back to school now and Helen and I miss her very much although Miss Blaisdell plays with us a good deal.

Aunt Margaret thinks she will not go to Pacific Grove at present as she is feeling much better and Mr Reid hardly thinks he can get away now. Ellie Wolford and Dr Yennant are to be married next Saturday I inclose a picture that Helen drew for you. I think she draws much better than she did a short time ago. With love from your fond daughter.
