Among the engineering and mining papers in California, none has credit for so large a regular issue as is accorded to the " Mining and Scientific Press," published weekly at San Francisco. In fact, It fully equals five times the combined Issue accorded to all the others, and the publishers of the American Newspaper Directory will guarantee the accuracy of the circulation rating accorded to this paper by a reward of one hundred dollars payable to the first person who successfully assails It.—Printers' Ink, April 22, 1898.

I am now editor of the Mining and Scientific Press. I see by a telegram from Ashland, Oregon in one of the daily papers, that you are going to accompany an expedition to the Crater Lake Cascade Reserve. I should like very much to get some-thing from you about the district, and when you return I shall esteem it a favor if you will let me know where and when I can seeyou in town. You know that the columns of the Mining and Scientfic Press are always open and at your disposal. In ease you are passing at any time, and care to, I should like to have you dropin.
