The Osborne Home on the Hudson, Sunday
June 21, 1896
My dear Wanda.
Mr Johnson & I came up here last evening from New York & the change from deadly hot & dust to lovely woods & gardens & cool streams is deligthful. Few homes could be more perfectly delicious in summery & snowy linen. And I am glad of the rest to get ready for the Harvard day next Wednesday
[3]
I got your letter dated Jun 11, yesterday. forwarded from Portage & was very glad to get the news.
Very many flattering invitations are coming in but I can accept none in advance of news from Mother
With love to you & all I am Your affectionate father
[2]
Tomorrow I am going further up the Hudson to meet Bouroughs & spend a night & day with him.
Then I go back to New York & then go to Cambridge Tuesday afternoon. But if mother should be worse I would leave all & go to her.
