Dear Louie.

Mother continues to hold the gain she made aftter her first prostrating attack--eats--pretty well & suffers only at time from shortness of breath but is still very wek & we are far from confident that she will even be able to walk the streets again through we hope she may. If she is gaining from day to day it is so little as to be scarce appreceable
We telegraphed for Dan but he could not come for want of money to buy a ticket! I sent it yesterday & we expect him tomorrow or next day & then he will probably stay a week or two & Mother will have the best of care & permit me

affair somehow.
I expected a letter from Wanda or Helen or some of you ere this. a note came from Maggie this morning & perhaps I may get a letter this afternoon. When Dan comes Mother will have six of her eight children with her. How Wanda & Helen would enjoy the Joanna children & Helen Hand. & the birds that throng the mulberry tree at the corner of the house. Love to you all
(Dont let my notes burn)

to go on to Cambridge.
I mean to start tomorrow if Mother is as well & hopeful as she is today. I fear I may not have money enough on account of unlooked for expenses, so you had better send $100.00 to Sarah with which to pay the return railway fares of Dan, Mary & her Helen. & a little more for Joanna who is sadly discouraged. Get a Wells Fargo note from Sherman, payable to Mrs David Galloway
