Dear John
Your welcome letter of June was received in due time, and I expect you received mine about the same time also I am very glad to know that you are all well and that Wanda is growing and thriving so well, have you had her likeness taken yet. I would very much like to have a likeness of her, as well as one of her mother also I should think you are kept very busy indeed with so much fruit to care for besides family matters

her husband has been at Madison on business so we had two short visits with him – I am not surprised at your fretting about the news you had about father as you are entirely ignorant of his proceedings for many years, but our fretting is of no avail whatever he was still with Joanna two weeks ago – Annie joins me in sending best wishes and love to you, your wife and little daughter and will hope to hear from you soon
Affectionately Mother
