Pacific Grove, Thursday Dear Mama and Helen, We are going to Santa Cruz tomorrow to see the big trees. We have been to Monterey and down on the beach most of today, saw some lovely shells (in the stores, not on the beach) and bought a few. We went to see the San Carlos Mission, but could not go in. Saw a great many old adobes in Monterey, but none that were as pretty as ours. It is a homely scattered [sic] town but it is not nearly as foggy over there as here. Yesterday we took several long walks, went out to the light-house and Moss Beach in the morning. The walk through the pines and oaks to the beach is beautiful and the sand out there is so white that everything looks as if it had been covered with snow. Both Aunt Ette and Eva are going to stay till Monday. If you need me telegraph tomorrow. If I do not hear from you Lula and I will stay until Aunt Ette comes. Some people have just called so I must stop. As ever, your Wanda
